Japanese Society of Clinical Sports Medicine

Society Overview

Society Establishment and Purpose

In modern society, people's interest in sports is increasing, and the medical community has been responding in various ways. Among these, the meetings of the East Japan Sports Medicine Research Society and the West Japan Clinical Sports Medicine Research Society have been held annually, as research societies covering all clinical fields of sports medicine.

As for training systems, in recent years, the Japan Sports Association, the Japanese Orthopaedic Association, and the Japan Medical Association have each held their own training sessions and certified sports doctors (or sports physicians).

Under these circumstances, the "Japan Society of Clinical Sports Medicine" was established in 1989 (Heisei 1) on a national scale to promote academic research, information exchange, and clinical training among clinicians across all fields of sports medicine. The "Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Clinical Sports Medicine" has been held annually in autumn.
